KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 — Care Concierge Sdn Bhd has achieved certification as a B Corporation (B Corp), making it the first senior care provider in Southeast Asia to achieve this milestone.
This recognition places Care Concierge among a global community of companies redefining success in business by balancing purpose and profit.
As a homegrown Malaysian brand, Care Concierge offers a full spectrum of personalised senior care services, including assisted living and day care services at specialised senior facilities, as well as home care services where qualified caregivers provide care in the comfort of the client’s own home.
Supported by a proprietary tech platform and a dedicated academy for caregiver training, the company provides innovative, high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of elderly clients.
It operates nine care facilities across Klang Valley and Penang, and has a network of over 2,500 senior care professionals committed to enhancing the lives of Malaysia’s ageing population.
The B Corp certification, administered by the global non-profit B Lab, acknowledges companies meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental impact, transparency, and accountability. Achieving this certification underscores Care Concierge’s dedication to sustainable practices and its mission to redefine senior care in the region.
The certification process, which took over a year, resulted in an impressive above-sector average B Impact Assessment score of 82.9. The certification process was supported by Bintang Capital Partners Bhd’s investment analyst, Sik Han Ming, who was seconded to the company as part of Bintang’s value and impact creation plan, in collaboration with Care Concierge’s strategy team, led by Sharifah Zakiah Wan Yusop.
“With the world’s ageing population expanding rapidly, we have a responsibility to create a business that truly supports the increasing need for aged care.
“Earning the B Corp certification is more than just a milestone for us — it’s a testament to our deep commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients, our community, and the environment,” said Martin Yap, founder and CEO of Care Concierge.
“This recognition reflects our unwavering dedication to providing compassionate, high-quality care while holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards of impact and integrity,” she added.
This achievement also highlights Care Concierge’s collaboration with Bintang, a leading Southeast Asian impact investment firm and the Company’s financial partner. Bintang’s goal of catalysing 150 B Corp portfolio companies by 2050 aligns seamlessly with Care Concierge’s vision.
“When I first met the company’s founders Martin and Justin almost three years ago, they expressed a shared belief that companies should also be a force for good and must hold themselves to the highest standards.
“This is especially key given the Company’s role as a provider of care for vulnerable elderly clients at a time when the silver-haired population of Southeast Asia is poised to increase dramatically,” said Johan Rozali-Wathooth, founder and CEO of Bintang.
“Care Concierge is Bintang’s second portfolio company this year to achieve B Corp certification, setting Bintang well underway in our journey of building 150 B Corps by 2050.”
This milestone comes at a critical time when Malaysia’s elderly population is projected to triple to about 18 per cent of the total population by 2040. With affordability and quality care becoming urgent priorities, Care Concierge launched a premium- economy range of care facilities in 2023 to address this growing need.
As one of only 16 certified B Corps in Malaysia and part of a global network of nearly 10,000 certified companies across 162 industries in 105 countries, Care Concierge is setting new benchmarks in senior care.
By adopting the B Corp framework, the company reaffirms its long- standing commitment to its clients, employees, and the environment.
With this achievement, Care Concierge is not just raising the bar for senior care — it is also reshaping the narrative for businesses in Southeast Asia, proving that success can go hand-in-hand with purpose and impact.
