Global Doctors at Our Residences: How It Works

The Mansion, our six assisted living residences across Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley, has worked with Global Doctors, a private hospital in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, since 2020. A Global Doctors doctor does rounds every week, our care team can reach its doctors by video at any hour, and an Urgent Care Corner keeps medical equipment and a defibrillator on site.

Below: how your parent sees a doctor, the 12-month health programme, what happens when they feel unwell, and five questions to ask any residence, ours included.

What is Global Doctors?

Global Doctors is a private hospital in Mont Kiara, Kuala Lumpur, with experience in caring for older people. The Mansion has worked with it since 2020, and the two describe the partnership as the first of its kind in Malaysia.

How does my parent see a doctor at The Mansion?

At The Mansion, your parent sees a Global Doctors doctor on the weekly rounds, or by video consult (teleconsultation) when a question can't wait. At our other residences, including Penang, ask a Care Advisor how doctor visits work.

  • Weekly rounds

A Global Doctors doctor checks residents' vital signs, reviews their existing conditions and works with our nurses on what to adjust.

  • Video consult

Our care team can reach a Global Doctors doctor by video at any hour, so a new symptom in the evening gets a doctor's view without leaving the residence.

What is the 12-month health programme?

The Mansion and Global Doctors are trialling a 12-month programme to help residents stay healthier for longer. Residents who join start with a blood test that sets their baseline. Over the year, the doctors track how they are doing and suggest changes to meals, exercise and daily routine alongside their existing treatment. For a resident with diabetes, that can mean closer blood sugar checks and changes to what they eat.

What is the Urgent Care Corner?

The Urgent Care Corner is a space at The Mansion stocked with medical supplies and equipment, where residents have video consults with Global Doctors. It is set up for first aid, wound care, pain management and mobility support, and has an AED, a defibrillator that can shock the heart back into rhythm during cardiac arrest. Our nurses and caregivers are trained to use the equipment and the AED, and to respond in an emergency.

We opened it with Global Doctors in December 2025. Dr Navindra Nageswaran, Medical and Managing Director of Global Doctors Group, and Leroy Chiam, our Head of Residence Care, opened it together.

"At The Mansion, our responsibility goes beyond providing day-to-day care. We want our residents to live better, with the right medical support available when they need it. Our partnership with Global Doctors Malaysia brings healthcare closer to our residents while giving our care teams the tools, training and confidence to respond effectively."

What happens if my parent feels unwell?

At The Mansion, a new symptom gets a video consult with a Global Doctors doctor, day or night. An emergency goes to hospital by ambulance. Pick a situation to see who helps.

What to ask any residence about medical care

Ask every residence on your shortlist these five questions, and get the answers in writing:

  1. Which doctor or hospital do you work with, and how often does a doctor visit?
  2. Can my parent see a doctor by video between visits, and at what hours?
  3. Is there a defibrillator on site, and who is trained to use it?
  4. In an emergency, who calls the ambulance, which hospital does my parent go to, and who calls me?
  5. Are doctor visits and video consults included in the monthly fee?

Ask us too. Our guide to choosing a residence for your parent has a checklist for the rest of the visit.
